Lucky Luke - The Singing Wire (Book# 35)

Another Sunday evening is approaching - time to settle down on the side of your sofa set and then have a wonderfully relaxed, old fashioned and simple fun time in the wild, wild west. You must know what I mean, right? Yessss !! It's time for a new Lucky Luke Adventure !!

Author: Morris
Born and raised in Belgium, Morris moved to the United States in 1946 for six years, where, he worked for MAD magazine and met Rene Goscinny, with whom he collaborated from 1955 until Goscinny's death in 1977.

Luke proposes a cigarette with 'Morris'
Goscinny also created the "Iznogoud" series with illustrator Tabary, published in English by Cinebook, and the hugely successful "Asterix" series with illustrator Uderzo.

This is a tale from 1977, towards the end of Goscinny and Morris’ collaboration on the tales of the "Man who shoots faster than his own shadow". This is one of the best comedy stories of Lucky Luke where he got involved with the joining of the telegraph (the singing wires of the title) and then it all goes, from one set-piece to another, gag to gag to gag.

Synopsis: 1861. Abraham Lincoln orders that the First Transcontinental Telegraph line, currently interrupted between Nevada and Nebraska, be completed. Two teams, one heading east from Carson City and the other west from Omaha, will meet up in Salt Lake City. Lucky Luke joins the eastbound team. But when a $100,000 reward is offered to the first team to arrive, there’s suddenly more to fear than the natural obstacles of the journey: A saboteur seems to be at work!
